Lube Technician
Spearfish, SD
Lube & Tire Technician performs routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and inspections, ensuring vehicle performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes and replace engine, air, cabin, and fuel filters to maintain vehicle efficiency and longevity
- Lubricate moving parts such as chassis fittings, wheel bearings, and engine components to prevent wear and friction
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and identifying potential issues before they escalate
- Perform tire rotations and adjust tire pressure to ensure even wear
- Replace basic maintenance items like windshield wiper blades and vehicle batteries
- Maintain accurate service records and operate lubrication equipment safely
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining services and recommending additional maintenance when necessary
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation, and assessing overall tire condition
- Mounting and dismounting tires using tire-changing machines and balancing wheels with computerized spin balancers
- Repairing punctures, replacing faulty valves, and performing retreading or studding for specialized tires
- Keep the work environment clean and organized, adhering to safety standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive systems
- Ability to handle tools and heavy equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to inspections
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary training or ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is advantageous
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Work Hours & Environment
*No Nights *No Weekends *Air-conditioned shop
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to Friday 5:00 PM
Compensation
$18 to $20 per hour
